Hi , I am Birce, I ve graduated from department of English Teaching and I have been teaching English for 10 years. I discovered yoga while i was studying at university. I got my first teacher training course from Zeynep Aksoy in 2015. After my first yoga training, I attented a silence course. This was a life changing experience for me because I wasn’t so aware of my body and feelings before. Meeting yourself starts with the day you embrace your own darkness and develop tolerance for you own bad feelings. My curiosity about how the brain functions and the subconcious mind helped me to meet psychotherapy and I have been taking psychotherapy sessions since 2018 and it is still an ongoing process. While i was looking for a way to implement therapy into yoga classes, I came across Devrim Akkaya’s Yin Yoga Teacher Training Course. After completing this couse, the way i teach yoga completely changed and it became more therapeutic. Stillness in yin poses helps the brain to meet the current emotions and welcome them instead of finding someting to keep itself busy so when you name your emotions, your brain can make the right connections so you have chance to tame your feelings and release them. For that very reason , I find yin yoga therapeutic and one of the best self –healing method. Besides this, I have completed family constellation, self compassion and non-violence communication trainings. In a nutshell, In my yoga classes, I care a lot about therapeutic stillness and open a healing space for the participants.
