Elif Numanoğlu was born in Yalova in 1995 She started sports volleyball and gymnastics at age 7 and played licensed volleyball for 14 years in both school and sport club. While studying at the Department of Political Science and International Relations at METU, which she won in 2012, she discovered running sport, which she was passionate about. For the last 7 years, she has been running for her goals in trail races and for donations in road races. She has the TAF-Athletics Trainer certificate and TCF-Pilates Instructor certificate. After writing her undergraduate degree, she applied to METU Physical Education and Sports Department for her master's degree for sports and running, which is her passion as soon as she graduates. Elif is now writing a thesis on physical activity and public health. Elif likes to run long distances and has completed the 42,195m marathon distance 4 times. Also competed in sprint and middle distance triathlon races. She achieved degrees in trail running. During her university years, she founded the running team named "Campusrunners". Also she represented her university in the swimming and volleyball team. In 2019, she participated in the IRONMAN 70.3 race individually. She was the only Turkish woman to attend that year, aged 18-24. At the same time, she opened a youtube channel called "Athlete Woman's Story"; and interviewed women who achieved many successes in the field of sports despite their responsibilities. She is a member of Kasfad (Women's Sports and Physical Activity Association). She took part as a reporter in the 2nd Women and Sports Workshop. Elif worked as an instructor in Yoga and Wellness theory classes at the Sports for All Federation. She became one of the 10 women volunteers selected from the world for the ISF (International School Sport Federation) She Runs Active Girls project, where the obstacles to the participation of girls in physical activity are discussed and solutions are sought for the first time in the world. She also writes about running on the Decathlon Blog.
