I was born in Ankara and grew up in Izmit. I live in Istanbul with my husband and daughter. I pursued my undergraduate education in Food Engineering at METU, where I became immersed in the challenges of academic life. It was during this time that I first grappled with the disconnect between personal fulfillment and the relentless demands of a competitive environment. The vibrant, inclusive, and liberating energy of METU often masked the internal struggles made to succeed. After completing my MBA at METU, I embarked on a 15-year journey in the food industry. Initially, the challenges and opportunities of this fast-paced sector fascinated me. However, over the years, I began to realize how the frantic pace of corporate life eroded individuals' connections with their authentic selves and with each other. I started seeking an inner journey home. In 2015, I was introduced to the teachings of Tara Brach and Kristin Neff for the first time. A Moment of Decision One evening, while sitting alone at home, I felt an intense fatigue and emptiness. The responsibilities of work and home were wearing me down. A question echoed in my mind: "If tomorrow were my last day, would I regret spending today unhappily?" This question prompted me to embark on a journey of self-discovery and transformation. I realized that I needed to find a path aligned with my values. My journey gradually took a transformative course. In 2022, I left my corporate job and joined Banyan, a Mindfulness Technology Company co-founded by Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach. Meeting Jack and Tara in person and managing live broadcasts reaching hundreds of people fueled my passion even more. Touching the lives of over 2000 individuals and collaborating with 80 exceptional teachers was extremely fulfilling. However, the economic crisis forced me to part ways with my dream job and led me to constantly doubt myself. Each setback provided an opportunity to deepen my understanding and discover the joy and pleasure in life. Joy, happiness, and peace in life are hidden in the magic of daily activities. No matter how professionally successful I was, no matter where I traveled for vacations, or how often I dined out, something was always missing. I always wanted more, but even more was not enough to satisfy me. Even if I bought more and more beautiful clothes, I always wanted more. I intellectually knew that this wasn't about money and possession, but I couldn't bring this understanding to my heart. Until I became unemployed and couldn't do any of these things. The more I immersed myself in each experience, lived each moment here and now, and absorbed the moment with all my senses, the more I understood in my heart that joy and peace have always been here with us. Struggling with deeply felt worthlessness and inadequacy turned into opportunities for deep healing and personal growth. Through my own journey, I learned that it is possible to find true satisfaction in simple daily life. Inspired by this transformative experience, I am eager to help others discover their own paths to authenticity and inner peace. I believe that everyone deserves to live a life aligned with their true self, forming genuine connections with themselves and those around them.
